Need a new SIM card?
If your current SIM card is incompatible or you don't have a SIM card, you will need to purchase one from your carrier. Visit your carrier's online store to purchase a new SIM card or contact your carrier's customer service for assistance.

What is a SIM card? SIM card, also known as a Subscriber Identity Module​, is a small circuit board that allows your mobile device to communicate with your carrier. ​SIM cards contain a unique serial number (ICCID) and international mobile security identity number (IMSI) that tell your carrier your device is allowed to operate on its network. When you upgrade to a new device, you can transfer your old SIM card as long it is compatible with your new phone.

TYPES OF SIM CARD

SIM cards come in three different sizes (Standard SIM, Micro SIM and Nano SIM), and the type you’ll need will depend on the device you purchased.

Standard SIM

Standard SIM cards are generally used in devices made prior to 2010. It is the largest of the three SIMs types, measuring 25x15mm.

micro SIM

Micro SIM cards were introduced in 2010 and still appear in some devices. They are slimmer, smaller and lighter and measure 15x12mm.

Nano Sim

Most newer smartphones, including Alcatel devices, now use Nano SIM cards, which were first introduced in 2012. They are the smallest SIM card and measure 12.3x8.8mm
