New Delhi: The Bank of Baroda customers can now update their ‘know your customer’ (KYC) documents without having to physically visit the branch. To avail this facility, the bank customers will have to use the ‘Video Re-KYC’ feature of the state-owned bank.

As per the guidelines of Bank of Baroda, ‘Video Re-KYC’ can only be used by a customer who is an Indian resident, above 18 years of age and must possess an Aadhaar number and PAN Card. “Customers, whose Re-KYC is due, can complete their Video KYC in a few minutes without having to visit the branch,” Bank of Baroda (BoB) said in a statement.

How to use Bank of Baroda Video KYC feature

Customers need to visit the website of the bank and complete the online Re-KYC application. At the first state the bank would ask the person to fill in an application.

After the completion of the online application, a bank executive will call the customer to conduct the Video KYC.

During the call, customers should be ready with their original PAN Card, a blank white sheet of paper and a blue/black pen.

The timing of the Video Re-KYC call is 10:00AM to 6:00PM on all working days.

After the video process is successfully completed, the details of the customers will be updated in the bank’s records and the user will be sent a confirmation text message.

Important note on KYC updation

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has ruled that periodic updation of KYC (Re-KYC) is a mandatory requirement.

BoB kickstarted the video KYC in 2021 and has now extended video KYC for Re-KYC facility for the convenience of its customers.

The roll-out of the video Re-KYC facility makes the process much simpler, more convenient and elevates the entire customer experience, the state-owned bank said in its statement.
